The first Naked Brothers Band album is a collection of songs from their Nickelodeon series, which began airing in February , eight months before the release of this eponymous album. The Naked Brothers Band are a sextet but only two members are seen on the front cover of the album: Nat and Alex Wolff , the brothers who are the stars of this group. Alex drums, while Nat sings, plays keyboards, and, most importantly, writes the fizzy bubblegum songs that give the series its pop. At the age of just 11, Nat already shows a knack for irresistible hooks, and he can deliver those hooks in several different ways, from the pure pop shimmer of their theme song "If That's Not Love" and the jangly "Taxi Cab" its guitars bringing to mind the Monkees ' "Last Train to Clarksville" without ripping it off to the surprisingly tough rocker "I'm Out" and the funny Jimmy Buffett sendup "Banana Smoothie. And while not every one of these 17 songs click, enough do to suggest that the Naked Brothers Band -- and particularly Nat -- have enough skill to make this something more than a brief flash in the pan.

The show stars Nat Wolff and Alex Wolff , the lead singer-songwriter, and drummer, respectively. Nat's fictional female love interest portrayed by Allie DiMeco and real-life friends Thomas Batuello , David Levi , and Cooper Pillot , as well as Qaasim Middleton —who has no prior acquaintance with the family—feature as the other band members, with Draper's jazz musician husband Michael Wolff as his sons' widowed accordion-playing dad, and her niece Jesse Draper portraying the group's babysitter. The series is a spinoff of Draper's film of the same name that was picked up by the network, premiering in January Draper, known for her starring role in Thirtysomething , is the executive producer, and often writer and director. Michael Wolff, who led the band on The Arsenio Hall Show , serves as co-executive producer and music supervisor, with Draper's brother, Tim , as the consulting producer.

The Naked Brothers Band is a American children's musical comedy film written and directed by Polly Draper , which stars her sons, Nat Wolff and Alex Wolff , who portray members of a fictional rock group. It tells of the boys' struggles with their fame and an internal dispute that causes the band to split before reuniting in the end. It also includes Allie DiMeco as Nat's fictional female interest, the siblings' real-life cousin Jesse Draper as the group's babysitter, Draper's husband Michael Wolff playing his sons' widowed accordion-playing dad, and real life friends Cooper Pillot and Cole Hawkins portraying the other members of the band. Draper shot the film in the style of a mockumentary —a parody in documentary format—that depicts the daily activities of the characters. Nat composed and performed the music, yet one song had been written by Alex.
